Hello My Name is
Chelsey, BSCC- Director
My experience in the field of early childhood started 12 years ago in Winnipeg MB, where I worked with preschool children one on one as a special needs teacher. From my first day working with the children, this profession captured my heart. I realized the reward of watching children blossom and grow under the nurturing guidance of early childhood educators. From Winnipeg, I returned home to Truro NS to pursue an education in Early Childhood. There I attended the Institute for Human Services Education and earned a diploma in Early Childhood Education. When I graduated, the city called and I moved to Halifax to join the YWCA as a Toddler/Infant teacher.
Working at this center for over 5 years the children, staff, and ECE community is a large part of my life. I am excited about our new chapter and happy to welcome everyone into our Barrington family.
My name is Ying
Infant room teacher
I am the infant room teacher.
I have been studying and working in childcare for 20 years.
I worked in China and Japan at nursery and preschool before moving to Canada 13 years ago. During my time here I have worked with children of all ages in a daycare setting.
I enjoy coming to work, where those little people teach me something new every day with their creative and pure mind, making me laugh with their pure humor. I look forward to having a fun time with them when I arrive.
My name is Yuliya.
I graduated musical college in Russia with a diploma as an orchestra performer and teacher. I have over 16 years experience teaching children and playing the violin. I have performed with the Chamber Orchestra in Ukraine, the Philharmonic Club Orchestra in Israel and the Chebucto Youth Orchestra in Halifax. I have been working as an Early childhood educator at the daycare since 2012
My name is Darlene.
My journey into childcare began when I was a Hairdresser. Whenever a child would come into the salon, I’d be super delighted to spend time with the child and try to make them laugh. Families started to request me for their little one’s dos. As my enthusiasm for Hairstyling faded my passion for childcare grew! I decided to peruse a career in Early Childhood Education.
After the birth of my beautiful daughter Hazel, I attended NSCECE and obtained my Level 1 in Early Childhood Education. I’ve been working in the field for close to 6 years
The education and growth of my Preschoolers are of great importance to me. My goal is to prepare my students (physically, intellectually, and emotionally) for the next chapter in their lives. It is truly a blessing to be able to watch children learn, grow and succeed!
My name is Deniel
I had the privilege of being a mom since 2014 to an adorable little girl. I am very passionate about children and care for each child like mine own. I was born and raised in Jamaica.
My philosophy is “bloom where you are planted”. Being a classroom teacher for over 10 years has allowed me to fulfill my natural role of nurturing, being a good listener, patient and supportive.
I am a lifelong learner who believes in continuous personal and professional development. The world is very diverse and dynamic and so should our teaching/learning techniques with every child.
It is said that as arrows are in the hands of a mighty man so are the children in our hands… I seek to positively impact every child I encounter.
Hi my name is Kim
I am excited to use my experience in the kitchen to cook for the children at Barrington. I have my own 8-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy at home and really enjoy working in a childcare environment.
My name is Olivia
I went to Prince Andrew High School and graduated 2013. After graduation, I started taking courses at the Nova Scotia College of Early Childhood Education. I will be continuing my studies this year, and in June will graduate with my Early Childhood classification. Throughout my life I have dedicated a lot of my time to taking care of children. I babysit and teach a primary/grade 1 Sunday school class at my church. I am excited to be a teacher here at BSCC, and truly believe a child’s education is the most valuable thing in the world.
